Shuffle Aces: Royal Blood – Figure It Out

In keeping with the focus on two-piece bands with the list this month (13 Best Two-Piece Bands), Royal Blood are getting another crack with the Shuffle Ace. Figure It Out is a classic example of how a few powerful riffs and the skills of Mike Kerr (and drummer Ben Thatcher) can make an amazingly powerful sound. The clip here isn’t the official one, but with this kind of band I want to see the live performance, if only to get a feel for how the hell they do it! It will be really interesting to follow these guys over the coming years to see how their sound evolves, and whether they will be able to maintain the energy. Not that I’m doubting them, it’s more that I’m intrigued how you can take a two-piece act into new territory.
