Shuffle Aces: Rose Tattoo – Bad Boy For Love
Now Rose Tattoo has been around a while. They first got together in 1976, and it’s amazing to think that what I consider their signature song – Bad Boy For Love – was their first ever single, released in October 1977. When the band launched into this song I was reminded how a simple blues/boogie played loud is one of the great things in live music.
In today’s world of bands reforming left, right and centre (the Tatts have had a couple of short breakups over the years but have been solid since 1998) the one thing that really strikes me about these bands that have been together for ages is how tight they are. Everything song has been played a thousand times and they just nail it. Rose Tattoo are the perfect example of this – a band that know their material intimately and deliver it with precision.
As far as the Golden Stave Foundation goes, you should check out their website where you can learn more about the group’s activities.
Shuffle Aces is a series of posts that highlights a song of the week that “shuffling” has brought forth. With all the streaming services it’s not just an iPod on shuffle mode that we use to discover new stuff or rediscover old favourites, but the principle remains the same: hit play and wait to see what gems come forth.
