Original Song: I’d Rather Stay In Bed
I’D RATHER STAY IN BED

Am
The light outside looks sharp
D7
The sky is glowing red
Fm
There’s frost upon the ground
G7 (C)
I’d rather stay in bed
Footprints on the grass
Show where I did tread
This winter is relentless
I’d rather be in bed
Been raining overnight
The temperature has dropped
The ice on the window
Means my view is cropped
Mist upon the water
Dew drops on spiders web
Sure it does look nice (but)
I’d rather be in bed
Silhouette of trees
The leaves are now all dead
No signs of life around
I’d rather be in bed
I’ve battled a cold for weeks
Stuffing up my head
Pull the covers up
I’d rather stay in bed
It’s going to be a great summer
The weatherman has said
But right now it’s just gloomy
I’d rather stay in bed
About the original songs
In January 2012 I commenced a goal of trying to write and record at least one song from scratch each month – sometimes it comes easily, sometimes it’s a real challenge, but I love the discipline it creates. I managed to complete the year, but it was so much fun that I’ve decided to keep it rolling for as long as I can.
