42 Musicians Who Went Solo

http://www.thecavanproject.com/asooj-date-today/Many have gone on to have a hit – generally riding on the back of their former ensemble success, but what about those who became as well known as pure solo artists after they left their original crew. Sometimes it’s when a band calls it quits and sometimes it’s when one member simply decides to move on, but either way you’re left with talented musos wondering what to do next. This list tries to draw the line between those whose fame kept them going for a while and those who actually started creating some high quality songs once they went out on their own – are you listening Zayn Malik?! It’s a start, but I’m sure there will be many more musicians who went solo that you could add in the comments below!

One Comment on “42 Musicians Who Went Solo

  1. Was going to let this go but was getting anal for god alone knows why. You listed Brian Ferry/Roxy Music 2X. Ringo has charted a couple time since the Beatles. Joe Walsh was with The James Gang, then went solo, then joined Eagles. Sammy Hagar started with Montrose (RIP Ronnie M…) went solo, had a hell of a solo career, then joined up with VH. When Nuggent wasn’t shitting his pants to get out of serving his country he started with the Amboy Jukes or something close name wise. They did have a few hits, even with him in the band. And I’ll shut up after pointing out that Janis (No last name needed) Was in Big Brother and the Holding Company when she became well, Janis
