Original Song: Attachment

Month 91 of original song-a-month project and a song based on the book Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. It’s an interesting look at relationships and the way people interact. I’m quite happy with the music on this one, with a drone effect from playing two note intervals around a droning D. As always, hope you enjoy!

What is it with your anxiety?
Can’t you see it’s you not me
Reading so much into what I do
Question everything that’s new

(Chorus)
I just want to be secure
Trust what I see, keep it pure
I can’t be any other way
I’ll chose love every single day

Your avoidant state leaves me perplexed
You only see what could be next
Sabotage what could be good
Simply because you think you should

(Chorus)
I just want to be secure
Trust what I see, keep it pure
I can’t be any other way
I’ll chose love every single day

To find someone that’s just like me
What you get is what you see
I don’t want to play the games
Of names and claims and blames

About the original songs
In January 2012 I commenced a goal of trying to write and record at least one song from scratch each month – sometimes it comes easily, sometimes it’s a real challenge, but I love the discipline it creates. I managed to complete the year, but it was so much fun that I’ve decided to keep it rolling for as long as I can.
